Millfield offers a broad curriculum with a flexible choice of GCSEs, A levels and BTECs. Year 9 pupils follow the 'Nine at Millfield' programme as they start in the Senior School.

Boarding and pastoral care

Millfield School takes both boarding and day students. Boarders live in school houses during term with resident staff, and day students go home at the end of the school day.

The boarding fee includes breakfast, a three-course supper and laundry. Each boarding house has a housemaster or housemistress and an assistant.

Life and activities

Sport is a particular strength, with cricket and golf centres and an Olympic-sized pool, alongside a full programme of music, drama and art.

Senior School day: £13,155 a term.

Boarding, Year 9 to Upper Sixth: £20,205 a term.

The day fee includes tuition, most activities, a three-course lunch, textbook loan and personal accident insurance.

Entry requirements

Entry is usually at 13+ or 16+. Selection is based on academic entry tests, an interview with a senior member of staff and a reference from the current school.
