Academics

  • A levels
  • GCSEs

A levels. Two-year courses taken in the sixth form, usually in three or four subjects. UK and international universities make offers on predicted and final A level grades.

GCSEs. Taken at the end of Year 11, usually at age 16, across a broad range of subjects.

Students join in Form 3 (age 13), Form 4 (age 14) or the Sixth Form and follow GCSE and A level courses. Teaching groups average around 16 at GCSE and 14 at A level.

Boarding and pastoral care

Concord College takes both boarding and day students. Boarders live in school houses during term with resident staff, and day students go home at the end of the school day.

Boarders have a single study bedroom in a boarding house with resident boarding parents. Meals, laundry, house activities and regular visits to Shrewsbury are included in the fee.

Life and activities

There are more than 100 clubs and societies, many run by students, alongside outdoor education, sport, music, performing arts and the Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

How we help

From first question to first day

Our advisers work with the family from the first question to the first day of term.

  1. Tell us about the student

Age, current school year, subjects and the kind of school you have in mind.

  2. Get a shortlist

We suggest schools that suit the student's level, budget and preferred part of the UK.

  3. Apply and sit entry tests

We prepare the application with you and help with the school's tests and interviews.

  4. Visa and guardianship

Students under 18 need the right visa and, at most boarding schools, a UK guardian. We guide you through both.
