Overview
Textiles Design is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in Design Studies runs regular critique sessions where you present and defend your work in front of the group.
If you are comparing this against two or three other courses, send us all of them. We will set the entry terms and the fees side by side.
Careers opportunities
Hiring in this field is decided on a portfolio rather than on a transcript, and the degree's job is to build one. A large share of graduates work freelance or on contract for the first few years, often alongside a studio job.
Roles graduates go into
- Designer or practitioner in your discipline
- Studio assistant
- Art director
- Creative producer

After the course
There is no register to join. What replaces it is a body of work, and most graduates spend the first two years building it in paid assisting roles.
