Manchester
Midwifery is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in Midwifery is regulated, so entry requirements and English levels are set higher than in most subjects and are rarely negotiable.
The lowest English requirement we hold on this course is IELTS 6.0, and departments asking more than that usually expect a stronger academic record too.
Send us your transcript and English result and we will list the departments that would consider you, with the entry condition on each.
An approved course leads to NMC registration as a midwife, and the profession is in demand across the country. Placement hours are a substantial part of the course and are non-negotiable.
NMC registration on qualifying, then preceptorship and specialist practice in areas such as bereavement or diabetes care.
