Mathematics (Extended Degree) is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in Mathematics is offered as a three year BSc or a four year integrated masters, and the longer route is the usual step towards research.
The lowest English requirement we hold on this course is IELTS 6.0, and departments asking more than that usually expect a stronger academic record too. Tuition ranges from £19,850 to £21,500 a year depending on the department, which is a real difference over the length of the course.
Applications open around a year ahead of the intake. Getting the documents together early is what keeps the September date realistic.
One of the most portable degrees there is, read by finance, technology, government and consultancy as a proof of analytical ability. Adding programming multiplies what it is worth in the market.
Actuarial exams, the CFA, a PGCE or a doctorate, depending on which of the four main routes you take.
