Overview

Management Consulting is offered widely in the UK, so the useful comparison is between departments rather than between countries. It is a one year postgraduate programme, so the pace is quick and the dissertation carries real weight.

Teaching in Management Studies is assessed through coursework and group work more than examinations, and most departments run a consultancy or company project in the final stage. We currently work with 2 universities on this course across 2 cities.

If you are comparing this against two or three other courses, send us all of them. We will set the entry terms and the fees side by side.

Entry requirements

Careers opportunities

This is the widest graduate market in the country and also the most competitive, which means the degree opens the door and the internship decides who walks through it. Structured graduate schemes recruit a year ahead, so applications start early in the final stage.

Roles graduates go into

  • Graduate management trainee
  • Business analyst
  • Project coordinator
  • Marketing or operations executive
  • Consultant
  • Account or client manager

Where they work

  • Professional services and consultancies
  • Banks and financial institutions
  • Retail, logistics and manufacturing
  • Technology companies
  • The public sector and charities
After the course

No licence is required. Professional membership of the CMI, or a specialist qualification in accountancy, marketing or human resources, is what most employers fund in the first two years.
