Birmingham
Foundation Programme: Business Computing and IT is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in Business Computing is coursework heavy, with lab sessions each week and a substantial individual project in the final stage.
Applications open around a year ahead of the intake. Getting the documents together early is what keeps the September date realistic.
Employers in this field test what you can build, not what you were taught, and a technical interview is standard. A portfolio of projects, open source contributions or an industrial placement carries more weight than the grade in almost every hiring process.
There is no register. Vendor certifications in cloud, security or data platforms are what most employers pay for in the first year, and they carry real weight in this market.
