Lincoln
Dental Hygiene And Therapy With Gateway Year is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in Dentistry is regulated, so entry requirements and English levels are set higher than in most subjects and are rarely negotiable.
The lowest English requirement we hold on this course is IELTS 6.0, and departments asking more than that usually expect a stronger academic record too.
Send us your transcript and English result and we will list the departments that would consider you, with the entry condition on each.
A primary dental qualification leads to registration with the General Dental Council and to practice. Overseas applicants should note that a United Kingdom degree is one route to registration and that the entry competition is among the fiercest of any subject.
GDC registration, then dental foundation training, then specialty training if you are heading toward orthodontics, surgery or another specialism.
