Overview

Common Law/Politics is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.

Teaching in Law is offered as a qualifying degree at most universities, which is the route that counts if you plan to practise in England or Wales.

Tuition ranges from £27,720 to £33,210 a year depending on the department, which is a real difference over the length of the course.

A qualifying law degree covers the academic stage only. To practise in England and Wales you then take the SQE and complete two years of qualifying work experience, and training contracts are competitive and applied for years ahead.
