French Studies (Part-Time) is taught at a number of UK universities, and the entry terms are set department by department rather than nationally. It is a three year undergraduate degree, with the specialism widening as you move through the years.
Teaching in French Studies lets you specialise in a period, an author or a region in the later stages.
Tuition ranges from £27,870 to £35,530 a year depending on the department, which is a real difference over the length of the course.
Applications open around a year ahead of the intake. Getting the documents together early is what keeps the September date realistic.
French remains commercially useful across Europe, Africa and international institutions, and the year abroad is the part employers ask about. The strongest destinations pair the language with a second discipline.
A translation qualification through the CIOL or ITI, or a PGCE for teaching.
